FamilyMart is a chain of convenience stores in Japan and when entering the store you are greeted with a doorbell chime. KN uses the electribe (an electronic musical instrument) to remix the two bar chime into fully fledged house song by adding components such as percussion, drums and even using DJ-like effects!

Ever found yourself liking a song so much that you want to listen to it over and over? The 中毒 (chuudoku, or “addiction”) series of videos take a song and connect the start and end almost seamlessly, giving a smoother listening experience than merely having the song on loop.

This song in particular is from episode 6 of Kyoukai no Kanata (a.k.a. Beyond the Boundary). In the episode, Mirai, Akihito, Mitsuki, Ai and Hiroomi attempt to distract a youmu so that they can defeat it. Their method of distraction? Performing “Yakusoku no Kizuna” on the school roof like idols!

(It’s surprisingly effective, until they forget to assign someone to kill it)

Because this is an insert song, unfortunately there’s still the character voices and sound effects from the anime. Kyoukai no Kanata’s soundtrack comes out in January 2014.

The “Kakenukeru” (literally “running past”) medleys are a series of medleys by the user M.Iz. They typically feature a lot of fast song switching at a high BPM, hence the name.

“Kakenukeru Medley Collaboration” is a tribute to the Kakenukeru concept, and was created in 2012 as a collaboration between 12 users. The medley features an extraordinarily large number of songs, from anime songs to game songs, Vocaloid, Touhou and iDOLM@STER songs. This video is an “original song version” of the medley, replacing the step sequenced songs with their respective original counterparts.

A second Kakenukeru Medley Collaboration was created earlier this month, and comes in two parts.

Trivia

• The video’s length, 25 minutes and 25 seconds, can be read as “niconico”
• The portion from 7:11 to 7:21 forms Hatsune Miku no Shoushitsu out of a number of other songs
• FLAG’s contribution (which admittedly sounds better step sequenced) is made up of largely obscure songs, and for a good reason. The yellow highlighted parts of each song name is the name of a user who has uploaded at least one popular medley to Niconico.
• Starting from 18:03, the same three notes are taken from the next six songs. This is because the song that follows, AKB48’s Heavy Rotation, also has a section with the same three notes repeating for six bars (To the lyrics “I want you”, “I need you”, etc.)
• The counter at the bottom left of わさぼう’s section counts the number of eroge songs within that section
